The Institution is a game concept that combines classic Grand Theft Auto mechanics with real world and real time consequences. The purpose was to concept an open world environment where players control an avatar able to commit a number of offenses. The player’s actions consequently effect the avatar and the player, and for every offense the resulting penalty exists in the game but in a real time perspective; ie a 25 year jail sentence will take an actual 25 years to complete. Whenever the player returns to the game his avatar will be under the control of  ”The Institution” and reflect any environmental changes produced by the game.
